444 Classic - Floating (90') WF

Extremely supple in the hand, fast through the guides, high floating, and legendary for it's durability. Precise tapers for ease of casting, turning over long fine leaders, or slapping down a #6 Wooly Bugger with ease. Cold water? No Problem! The 444 stays flexible in any water.

444 Classic - Clear Camo
The 444 Clear Camo is the top choice for Stillwater anglers all over the world. The super stealthy "clear camo" blends into any sub-surface environment to virtually disappear in the water and will not distort the water surface. The slowest full sinking line on the market with a sink rate of 1.5 - 2 IPS. This allows the fly to stay in the feeding zone longer than any other line. The 444 Clear Camo is ideal for the shallow water conditions and spooky fish. This super supple line will remain supple in the coldest conditions.
Type: Intermediate Type 1 (1.5 - 2 IPS)
Taper: WF
Color: Clear Camo
Core: Mono
444 Classic - Intermediate Type 1 (90')
With a specific gravity of 1.06, this neutral density 444 intermediate fly line is only slightly heavier than water. Left untreated it will sink very slowly making it especially useful for fishing over shallow, submerged weed beds. A favorite for fly fishing enthusiasts because the line settles just below a surface shop and remains straight for positive hook-setting.
Type: Intermediate Type 1 (1.5 - 2 IPS)
Taper: WF
Color: Ice Blue
Core: Nylon Braid
444 Classic - 10' Sink Tip (90')
444 Classic Sink Tips offer the time tested proven features of the 444 Classic with the added benefit of an integrated 10 foot type 3 sinking tip. The super supple finish along with a glass smooth finish of the 444 Classic allows the angler to easily mend and pick up line quickly while still keeping your fly down where the fish are feeding.
Type: 10' Sink Tip Type 3 (3.5 - 4 IPS)
Taper: WF/DT
Color: Peach/Brown Tip
Core: Nylon Braid
444 Classic - Sinking Lines (90')
With most species taking far more of their natural food below the surface than on the top, sinking lines get the fly down to theses deeper feeding locations. Because feeding patterns, water depth and current vary, Cortland manufactures a wide range of sinking lines. Available in different densities (sink rates) to insure that there is a line right for any condition. 444 Sinking Lines come in varying shades of brown, with the lighter lines indicating a slower sinking rate than the darker.
Type 2 - Fast sinking - Sink Rate 2.5-3 IPS. The most popular choice for mid range depths, 5 to 15 feet.
Type 3 - Extra Fast Sink - Sink Rate 3.5-4 IPS. For fast waters or depths of 25 feet in Lakes.
Type 6 - Extra Super Sinker - Sink Rate 6.25-7 IPS. Really gets down deep quick.
